TweetDeck Answers

This will be a post in which I update things about TweetDeck tonight (July 1, 2009).  I understand it’s not a common practice to keep updating one post but this first one is just a graphical demo for my friend Laura. :)   I will take questions from Twitter and compile them into this post.  Mmhmm.  Live blogging.

Managing Your Tweets in TweetDeck

Buttons from left to right:

  • Move Column Left
  • Show What is Popular in This Column
  • Filter This Column
  • Mark All As Seen
  • Clear Seen Tweets
  • Clear All
  • Move Column Right

When you mark a Tweet as “seen” (or hit mark all as seen as I have before), your Tweets change from this:

To this:

(The slight variation being the little white dot disappears.)

Syncing Your TweetDeck Between Two Computers

Great question from Bob in Kingston. (The question being the header above.)

This is done inside of the Settings panel of TweetDeck but before I show you how to do this – let me caution you on something.  It’s not perfect. While it does sync your two accounts, the “marked as read” and “seen” Tweets don’t always reflect across multiple computers.  Even with this method.  And, you still need to setup your column preferences on each computer.

1. Login to Tweet Deck and click on “Settings”

2. Click on Sync (the last tab on this window).

Ideally, this is *supposed* to work – this is why TweetDeck has the sync option but I’ve found that it doesn’t always connect to the server thus not creating a perfect replica of what you have in both accounts.

3. Login to your other TweetDeck account and do the same process.

Savvy Marketers Club: Stacy Karacostas

The team and I over at BSETC also just wrapped up a membership site for our client Stacy Karacostas. Stacy is an amazing marketing coach who helps out small businesses from around the world with their marketing needs.

Her newest offering is a membership site that is powered by Ning and offers members the chance to get amazing content, support and access to Stacy for a nominal fee.  Check out the site and register to become a member if you’re stuck with your marketing.

We did many things for this project including: the website / sales page, the Ning site, execution of the marketing materials, autoresponder setup, video integration and more.

Stacy’s energy is infectious!

New Blog Talk Radio Home Page: Amirah Hall

Our team at BSETC just finished a landing page for Amirah Hall’s Lessons from the Light Radio program on Blog Talk Radio.

Her previous radio show page was great but this one now showcases her past shows, allows for conversation and communication to happen amongst her listeners and also showcases the upcoming shows in a really exciting way.  I love the work Amirah is doing and I think this is a great representation of her energy and spirit.

You can check it out here:

Visit Lessons from the Light Radio and subscribe by clicking this link.

Clever Marketing for the Dell Inspiron Laptop

When I first saw this commercial, I thought it was a candy commercial and I squealed. Big time. After further viewing, I realized it was for the new Dell Inspiron laptop and thought it was very clever marketing.

Have you seen it? Do you like it?

Twitter Change: Design Settings

Earlier today, I blogged about Twitter changing their following / followers look and feel. Now, Lukas (our graphic designer and @TheLukas on Twitter) informed me that they’ve also changed the look of their design settings.

Picture 1.png

You can see in the above image that instead of listing a bunch of hexidecimal codes (the color codes that appear like this –> #000000), they are color palettes.

Once those are expanded, you can see the new way of choosing colors:

Picture 2.png

You can slide the slider through the colors which auto-generates the hexidecimal code. The visual look and feel of the four squares is great because then you can see how your color scheme works well together.

What do you think?
